It is a great pleasure to invite you to the SETAC Europe 25th Annual Meeting, which will be held in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, from 3-7 May 2015.

The innovative use of chemicals and nanomaterials in new technologies, industry and agriculture challenges many aspects of the ecosystem functioning of the global environment. However, these new technologies and materials also offer opportunities to remediate or minimise these anthropogenic insults. Finding innovative solutions to environmental problems is ever more important in the current economic scenario. For SETAC, this is a challenge we relish. This international conference brings together experts from government, industry, consultancy and academia to meet this challenge. The conference will focus on the most recent advances in environmental sciences and will provide platforms for implementing this knowledge, for improving the protection of our environment and to shape policies from current viewpoints to future needs.

We warmly welcome you to Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain. Located in the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea North East of Spain, it is limited by two rivers from west to east (The Llobregat and Besòs), the sea front at the south and the Tibidabo mountain at the north. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, a Spanish region with its own culture and language. Barcelona is one of the preferred cities of Europe for congresses and tourism thanks to its nice Mediterranean weather, modern art and architecture and excellent transport, housing and food facilities. It is located at 50 km from the Costa Brava and 100 km from the Pyrenees for you to explore.
